Il Magnifico 2021, made with bronze and Portoro black marble

Limited Edition
188 fountain pens
188 rollers
Lorenzo de' Medici, known as The Magnificent (1449-1492), was the ruler of Florence during the golden age of Florentine Renaissance, enthusiastic patron of scholars and artists (such as Pico della Mirandola, Botticelli and Michelangelo). The 8-sided faceted barrel of the pen is made of Portoro marble - a fine-grained black marble with golden veins reminiscent of the ripples of a stream. It is quarried in Portovenere, in the Gulf of La Spezia (Liguria).

The cap is made of bronze, and recalls the decoration of the other Il Magnifico pens, with the stripes of Renaissance decorations (with the Florence's lily) chiselled using the ancient techniques handed down by Benvenuto Cellini, a famous 16th century goldsmith.
