The Medicis supported painters like Masaccio, Raphael, Michelangelo; architect Brunelleschi; Leonardo da Vinci and Donatello, and made possible the creation of masterpieces that all the world can still admire in Florence.
The Medici pen is 8-side faceted, like the Florence Baptistery.
Its shape was projected following the Divine Proportion rules, firstly codified by Leonardo da Vinci under the Medici family hegemony.
The pen is realized with a new Visconti material: Acrosilk, a compound of acrylic resins and silk fibers.
This is the reason of its fantastic glossy and luminescent effect, that gives the same deepness of colors of the ancient celluloid.
The woodish-brown color has been chosen as a homage to ancient luxury materials used in the Medici's mansions.
The fountain pen is Oversize size, but was produced for a while also in Medium size, now discontinued.
The Oversize fountain pen features the large Dreamtouch nib, in 23 Kt palladium, and Power Filler filling system.
The collection includes also the capped roller and the ballpoint.
All metal trims are made with sterling silver.
The central band is carefully chiselled with the symbol of the Medici family.
Medici pens are provided with the visconti patented "safe lock system". It is the well-known Hook Safe Lock method that allows the user to close the pen by rotating it by only 20°, thus making it absolutely impossible to open the cap by accident.
The Dreamtouch nib is discontinued and sold out.
All the models that used to be sold with the Dreamtouch 23 Kt palladium nib, now are equipped with a 18Kt gold nib.
