"Nazionale" was the name of one of the models of Elmo-Montegrappa from the late 1930s.
Technologically renewed, isd now proposed by Montegrappain Marble Green color (sold out), Caramel (sold out) and Zebra, almost sold out even before its launch.
The pen is made with celluloid, shaded blue/grey/black striped, featuring details in black resin (on its junctions and blind cap), which is the best modern substitute for ebonite.
The main feature of the new Nazionale Flex (as its name suggests) is definitely its amazing flexible nib in 14 Kt gold, with cut-out shoulders which flex much more than normal nibs, offering comfortable curving for an enhanced writing experience. You can try different types of calligraphy just applying more pressure to the nib.
It's available as Fine and ExtraFine only, because it accomplishes the rest on its own.
Cap and body of Nazionale Flex Zebra are made in beautiful celluloid, blue/gray/black mixed together in shaded stripes, always different; all pens are unique.
Sterling silver trims.
Also in keeping with the era during which the first Nazionale was born, (which pre-dates cartridges), also the Nazionale Flex's filling system is piston-only.
Very limited edition: only 100 fountain pens with Fine nib and 100 fountain pens with ExtraFine nib, packed in a luxury wood box with ink bottle.
