When Roy Conklin patented the first self-filling pen in 1897, known as the Crescent Filler, he obtained the approval of author Mark Twain, who since then has been the official spokesman for the Conklin brand, making the Crescent Filler one of the most beloved pens in history.
His statement remained famous: "I prefer it because it keeps me from getting furious as it doesn't roll off the desk".
The Mark Twain - Crescent Filler fountain pens are offered in 4 models, made with Italian precious resins of different colors and effects, from marbled to Demostrator, to deep black with Guillochè engravings; and are hand made in Florence, Italy.
Polished black resin, engraved with Guillochè technique all over cap and body with geometrical pattern; rose gold finish, black steel nib.
Fire red for cap and body, engraved with Guilloché technique with geometrical pattern. Golden trims, steel nib.
The only limited edition of the Mark Twain collection, curently, is the Demo model, made with transparent resin, with rose gold finishing. The soft sac is well visible inside the barrel. Cromed steel nib.
Vibrant colors, pieces of electric blue and deep black in this version of Mark Twain. Chromed steel finishing and chromed steel nib.
Marbled resin in wood green tones, oldish and pale, immersed in deep black; a classy contrast from the rose gold used for trims. Black steel nib.
All fountain pens feature the crescent filling system: the metal crescent pushes the soft sac inside, that sucks ink when released. The central bold ring rotates and blocks the crescent, to avoid it accidentally press the sac.
Steel nib available as EF, F, M, B, Stub, and OmniFlex.
