The Academia project has been created for all those who are still capable of thrill over beauty, for those who are able to appreciate even the smallest detail of an object and understand it is that very detail that makes the object unique.

Today, as in the prestigious era of Lorenzo il Magnifico, under the aegis of "Academia", outstanding Florentine artists practice their art and give tangible form to their innate sense of the beautiful, in the creation of small masterpieces of sculpture and jewelry of indisputable excellence.

The Laurus pen

Laurus, realized with the purest gold and silver, is the symbol of the will to win and the aspiration to success, depicted by a rush of frenzied racing horses, moving from one end of the barrel to the other.

At the end of the whirling course followed by the animals, the winning horse is shown in its sublime moment of glory with laurel wreaths encircling its head and neck.

The scene is a bas-relief hand engraved by the sculptor Paolo Cerrini.

The fountain pen features a piston filler system with 18 Kt nib (F, M, B, and also OB, OBB, 1.3 stub, and 52°).
The mechanism works by a metal ring which allows the nib to easily retract inside the barrel.

Each pen is singly numbered and initialed by the artist.
The pen comes in a prestigious briar wood box, with a desktop magnifying glass, pocket penholder in black leather and a pair of white cotton gloves.
