185 fountain pens
In the 85° Anniversary of its foundation, Omas launches its new"Doctor’s Pen" Limited Edition, the historical model created by Armando Simoni in 1927, in only 185 numbered and limited pieces
It is realized in blue/black "Cotton resin" and sterling silver, enriched with ruthenium trim, and features an unusual oval shape of barrel, which is actually very comfortable when writing.
patented by Armando Simoni in 1927,
which housed a small clinical thermometer
inside its barrel, separated
from the filling mechanism (lever)
by a metal partition.
The decoration represents, like the previous model, the "Rod of Asclepius" (in latin, Aesculapius: the Greek god of healing and medicine).
It's an ancient symbol associated with medicine, that consists of a serpent entwined around a staff. The Rod of Asclepius symbolizes the healing arts, combining a snake - whose shedding of skin and renewal is emphasized as symbolizing rejuvenation - with a walking stick, associated with itinerant physicians.
Piston filling system, with ink capacity of ml. 1,50
